NETO’S A WORLD AWAY FROM TOP

But Nuno says he’ll get there with graft WOLVES V LEEDS 8PM

WOLVES boss Nuno Espirito Santo has told rising star Pedro Neto he is not a world beater yet.

The forward is top of the club’s attacking statistics this season and scored a brilliant individual winner to topple Southampton last Sunday.

Wolves head into tonight’s clash with Leeds hoping Neto can build on his return of five goals and four assists, which had team-mate Ruben Neves claiming his fellow Portuguese can be a world star.

Neves says Neto has been Wolves’ best player this season and tipped him to be “a big star in world football”.

Although Nuno is delighted with the 20-year-old’s form, he says there is plenty of room for improvement.

The manager said: “I truly believe he has a long way to go. There are a lot of things he can improve on. He’s very young, very talented. I’m very pleased with him. He’s always committed to training and games. But we know and he knows he can improve and he’s on a journey to get there.”

Star striker Raul Jimenez continues to make progress after his career-threatening injury against Arsenal in November.

The Mexico international needed surgery after fracturing his skull in a clash of heads with David Luiz. Jimenez is now joining in with the technical drills in training but Nuno could not put a time on his return.

The manager said: “He’s improving all the time but we must be careful. His progress is encouraging and we’re delighted. We miss him, but this will take time. He’s heading in the right direction. His fitness is improving, but you have to be patient.”

Nuno believes Leeds will provide a stiff test. He added: “The way they approach the game is unique. They have such incredible energy.”
