£1.6bn battle as Kim and Kanye separate
KIM Kardashian has filed to divorce Kanye West sparking a battle over their property empire.
The US reality TV star is asking for joint legal and physical custody of their four children which sources say the rapper agrees with.
The Wests, worth £1.6billion between them, have a prenup and the only real issue is how their property will be divided.
Sources in the US alleged Kim, 40 and West, 43, have been “at each other’s throats” with “daily bustups” in lockdown.
The couple, who wed in 2014 and have four children, were said to be living at opposite ends of their LA compound before West moved to their family home in Wyoming.
An insider said: “They have struggled now for several months. They tried to make it work but it just wasn’t to be. They’ve grown apart.”
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star and the rapper began dating in April 2012, when she was still married to basketball star Kris Humphries.
According to Forbes, Kanye is worth around £952million and Kim is worth about £660million.
Sources say in the last year Kim has “grown up a lot” and wants to pursue a career in law.
Meanwhile, Kanye is said to be “uncomfortable and irritated by the Kardashians’ over-the-top lives”.
In July, the artist claimed he has been “trying to get divorced” from Kim since she met rapper Meek Mill at a hotel two years ago.
Last year Kanye failed in his presidential bid. He then claimed he stopped his wife from having their first child aborted.
Shortly after, Kim publicly addressed her husband’s bipolar disorder diagnosis.
