Responsibility

-

The difficulty is that after being in complete control of large swathes of devolved power for so long, the SNP’s finger-pointing routine is wearing a bit thin. With power comes responsibility.

On Question Time, the video wall of audience members on mute clapped enthusiastically at Hislop’s piercing questions.

They got it and it’s becoming clear that more and more Scots are getting it too. This began when two women accused Alex Salmond of sexual misconduct.

Sturgeon’s government cooked up a new complaints process. But Salmond proved in court that their pursuit was conducted unlawfully and, according to a judge, “tainted by apparent bias”. This resulted in taxpayers footing Salmond’s £500,000-plus legal bill.

Sturgeon’s reckless behaviour cost an incalculable amount of precious public money, but it is the subsequent cover-up that will finish her off – as is so often the case with political scandals.

Having vowed to fully cooperate with the inquiry, Sturgeon and the SNP machine did everything possible to subvert it. Believe me, you will be hearing a lot more whataboutery over coming days as flapping SNP politicians do whatever they can to protect Sturgeon.

The SNP have abused state power on a monumental scale.

Make no mistake, this is a scandal of epic proportions, perhaps the greatest in modern Scottish political history. And no amount of whataboutery in the world can save

Sturgeon.
