If you need reassuring everything’s going to be all right read Professor Positivity. FOR all the talk of vaccines and variants, I think most people are interested in when they can see loved ones again and how they can reopen their businesses.

The steps we are taking out of lockdown on March 29 are hugely significant for the first of those, with the economy beginning to reopen on April 12.

Thankfully the “stay home” order will end on the 29th and finally more outdoor activity will be allowed.

I was very critical of the rule of six in the past as it massively discriminated against large families, but it has now been changed to six people or two households.

I tweeted this and many were unaware. So if you have a large family and were unable to meet others due to the rule of six, that is no longer the case.

Two parents with four children last year were in perpetual lockdown, now they will be able to meet another household, regardless of how many are in that one too. A really important tweak; I’m pleased the Government has made it.

Organised outdoor sports will restart and also outdoor sports facilities too. This will make an enormous difference to people’s mental health and it should not have been banned for as long as this.

We know that the risks are extremely low in the fresh air. I sincerely hope that the national discussion as we open up reflects this.

Too often people have been painted as reckless for enjoying the sun in a park on a beach. We shouldn’t be shaming people for wanting to get outside.

I’m very much looking forward to spending more time outdoors. All just in time for the Easter weekend too. And I’m hoping for some decent weather!
