Travel: Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond The Lobby, BBC2, 9pm

Giles Coren and Monica Galetti serve five-star luxury to guests paying up to £11,000 per night at the exclusive Brando Resort on the tiny island of Tetiaroa in French Polynesia. Run according to original owner Marlon Brando’s vision of promoting Polynesian culture, protecting the environmen­t and minimising its carbon footprint, Giles wonders whether the famous guests (who have included Barack Obama and Leonardo DiCaprio) care about that or “just want to lounge by the pool with a piña colada”. Apart from the usual jobs, it takes a beekeeper, a dedicated coconut safety officer and beach sweepers to run the resort. Paradise.

Drama: Holby City, BBC1, 7.50pm

Hanssen finds himself compromise­d now the truth is out about Reyhan’s abuse. With Sahira (Laila Rouass, left) remaining adamant that her father is innocent, she devastates Henrik by deciding to leave Holby altogether. But will Sahira walk away from her lifelong friend just as he needs her most? Louis discovers old friend Vicky is caught in a toxic relationsh­ip and vows to help. But who can he turn to? Kian tries to convince Lucky that his drug taking is a thing of the past.

Film: The Equalizer, Film4, 9pm

Premiere. Retired secret agent, Robert ‘Bob’ McCall (Denzel Washington, above), applies his talents to the task of helping victims of injustice. When he witnesses a prostitute being beaten up by a pimp, he kills the man, an act that draws him into a battle to the death with a Russian crime syndicate. Vigilante action thriller based on the 1980s TV series. Also starring Chloe Grace Moretz and Bill Pullman.

Soap: Emmerdale, ITV, 7pm

Resigned to the fact her kids and grandkids (and anyone else she’s related to for that matter) want nothing more to do with her, Charity (Emma Atkins) is beyond grateful when she convinces Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) to hear her out. This basically involves her begging for yet another chance. Elsewhere, Bob is worried that Dan is flirting with Wendy and Andrea asks Charles out for a drink.

Soap: Eastenders, BBC1, 8pm

Sharon gives Jean a chance to talk through her family concerns, although when Sharon mentions her new-found brother, Jean is left with an idea. Martin is caught in the middle as Lily and Ruby argue, Whitney realises Kush is worried about leaving Arthur and Bernadette is forced to go against her better judgment. Isaac reminds his mother Sheree (Suzette Llewellyn, right) of her controllin­g tendencies as she stops Patrick from taking part in the medical trial.
