Man in sex assault ‘rampage’

- By Mark Reynolds

A TEENAGER was sexually assaulted and two women stabbed during a “horrific” one-man rampage.

Mark Williams, 37, bound and gagged a woman and a girl, before stabbing the woman in the abdomen and thigh and slashing her throat.

He then slashed the teenager across the cheek and sexually assaulted her.

The woman, in her 40s and know to her attacker, was flown to hospital by air ambulance in a life-threatening condition after the attack at 8pm on February 18. At 11.59pm that night, police were called to reports of a woman screaming at another address in Bournemouth.

The victim – aged in her 30s – was found with a laceration to her throat and was flown to hospital for surgery.

When police foundWilliams, he was covered in blood.

He told officers he was the man that they were looking for and was arrested.

During the police interview, he confirmed that he had attacked three female victims at two locations.

Williams, who lives in the town, pleaded guilty to attempted murder, grievous bodily harm and a serious sexual assault at Bournemouth Crown Court.

He will be sentenced on May 7. Detective Inspector Wayne Seymour, of Dorset Police, said: “These were nasty and extremely horrific incidents.

“They left two women severely injured in a lifethreatening condition and a teenage girl sustained serious injuries to her face.

“I would like to praise all three victims for the courage they have shown following such a terrifying and distressing ordeal.”
