Taylor keeps the Posh waiting

- MATTHEW DUNN

PETERBOROUGH threw away a two-goal lead and with it the chance of sealing automatic promotion to the Championship last night.

Midfielder Joe Ward poked home his fifth goal of the season after 10 minutes and Sammie Szmodics, right, doubled their lead 13 minutes later.

But Doncaster hauled themselves back into the game against the run of play.

Fejiri Okenabirhie picked up a long ball and fired it home after 38 minutes – and they found an equaliser through Taylor Richards after 59 minutes.

The visitors almost went ahead after 68 minutes when Jason Eyenga Lokilo forced a fine save from Josef Bursik.

Posh can still clinch promotion with a draw on Saturday with closest rivals Lincoln, who won at Shrewsbury last night.

GRIMSBY crashed ❑ out of the Football League after losing 3-2 at Exeter.

And they are set to be joined by Southend. Barrow beat Forest Green 2-0 to stay up so Southend must win their final two games and pray for a big goal swing. Scunthorpe will be nervous after a 4-0 thumping at Newport. But Cheltenham are promoted after a 1-1 draw with Carlisle.

STAN KROENKE has insisted Arsenal is not for sale after mounting interest from Spotify co-founder Daniel Ek.

Swedish billionare Ek says club legends Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira are in his consortium. But Kroenke, under fire for his involvement in the failed European Super League, said in a statement: “We remain 100 percent committed to Arsenal and are not selling any stake in the club. We have not received any offer and we will not entertain any offer.”
