Kyprios can give O’Brien Derby boost
AFTER being upstaged by Frankie Dettori last weekend, Ryan Moore can put one over on the Italian by partnering Kyprios to victory at Lingfield today.
Dettori had the winning mount on the Aidan O’Brien-trained Mother Earth when Moore was fourth on stablemate Santa Barbara in the QIPCO 1,000 Guineas.
O’Brien, below, is responsible for
KYPRIOS (2.50, nb, ITV4) in today’s Novibet Derby Trial and also Dettori’s mount Carlisle Bay.
Kyprios, successful at Cork last month, has form that links up with the smart Bolshoi
Ballet, third favourite for the Derby, that gives him the edge over his stable companion.
TECHNIQUE (2.15, ITV4) gets the vote over a moderate bunch in the Novibet Oaks Trial Stakes.
The filly had Save A Forest in second place when an impressive winner at Wolverhampton in January.
After her encouraging fifth behind Top Rank at Doncaster in March,
BOUNCE THE BLUES (3.25, ITV4) will now be ready. The progressive
TURN ON THE CHARM (4.00, ITV4) can shrug off top weight in the Download Handicap.
At Ascot the handicapper has given
DREAMLOPER (1.55, ITV4) an excellent opportunity to build on her recent fourth behind Persuasion at Haydock.
ALBAFLORA (2.30, ITV4) can confirm her running when second to Berkshire Rocco with Without A Fight third, at today’s track in October. ACQUITTED (3.40, ITV4), ruled out of last Saturday’s Thirsk Hunt Cup on a vet’s certificate, can be compensated in the Tote Victoria Cup.
If he repeats his running when second behind Palace Pier at Newcastle last season, he will take this in his stride. Further improvement is expected from
GROUP ONE POWER
(4.15, treble ITV4) after his success at Epsom last month.
At Haydock
COPPERLESS (3.10, nap, ITV4) can make amends for his fall at Aintree last month.
Olly Murphy’s charge looked the winner before crashing out at the second-last hurdle in a competitive contest won by Rowland Ward.
