Blues revival leaves Roman speechless TUCHEL YET TO HEAR FROM OWNER

- By Paul Brown

THOMAS Tuchel has done wonders reviving Chelsea but has yet to hear a peep from Roman Abramovich, despite leading the club into the Champions League final.

Tuchel is happy after his side beat Real Madrid to book an allEnglish final with today’s Premier League opponents Manchester City, and is set to be offered a new contract. But even though he has also led Chelsea into the FA Cup final and reached the top four in the league, he has not had owner Abramovich, right, on the phone. Asked if that was strange, the Blues boss said: “No, absolutely not. I’m in touch with the board, with all the people in charge. I have absolutely no regrets. I am pretty sure he likes what he sees. This is what he deserves.

“He has built a fantastic club. We try to make him happy. We have the same goals. It’s fine.”

Chelsea face City in a dryrun for their big showdown in Istanbul on May 29 – three weeks after having beaten them in the FA Cup semi-finals.

It is another chance for Kevin

De Bruyne to prove Chelsea wrong for selling him in 2014.

He left for Wolfsburg in a £17million transfer after struggling for playing time under Jose Mourinho, and has gone on to become one of the world’s best players. But

Tuchel said: “You can get caught up in these thoughts – that it was maybe a big mistake to let him go.

“You don’t know what would have happened if he had not changed clubs. Maybe it was the right thing for him.”

Tuchel, who will inject some “fresh legs” against City today, says Chelsea will not lose patience with Timo Werner and Kai Havertz in the way they did with De Bruyne. He said: “You draw a comparison to Kai and Timo.

“It is always a process. For some it is faster, for some a bit slower.

“We’ll never lose patience. As long as they are Chelsea players they get full support.”
