Michael family agree cash deal with his ex

- By Paul Keogh

GEORGE Michael’s ex Kenny Goss has agreed a secret deal with the star’s family after demanding a share of his £98million fortune.

The American sued the singer’s father and sisters after being cut out of George’s will, which left his millions to family and friends.

Former art dealer Kenny claimed he had been reliant on the Wham! frontman’s money when they were together and he should still be provided for.

George’s family were said to be furious with the claim, but have now agreed a secret settlement.

Documents filed at the High Court say the case has been settled on a “confidential” basis with all sides paying their own lawyers’ costs.

Kenny and George met at a Los Angeles restaurant in 1988. They were a couple for 13 years after getting together in 1996.

The singer died from heart and liver disease on Christmas Day 2016. Kenny was left nothing in the 53-year-old’s will.

George’s then-partner Fadi Fawaz was also excluded from the singer’s fortune.

Sources close to Kenny, 62, described him as “effectively a stay-at-home husband” who was almost entirely supported financially by the singer. In his claim, Kenny named George’s sisters Melanie and Yioda, and his father Kyriacos, as defendants, as well as the solicitor representing the estate.

But Melanie died on Christmas Day 2019, leading to a delay in the case getting to court.

An order signed off by a judge, Master Francesca Kaye, says the terms of the settlement are secret and that copies of the details are held by lawyers.

She said: “All further proceedings in the claim be stayed except for the purpose of carrying the terms of the confidential schedule into effect.”
