Independence comes with a hefty price tag

-

WHY ARE so many people in Scotland in favour of going it alone? What is this obsession they have with independence? I have to admit that most of my Scottish friends and acquaintances aren’t interested. They believe as I do in the strength of the United Kingdom. But after the election still more people seem to follow the SNP.

Do they really believe they would be admitted into the failing European Union? Because I think they’ll have a shock.

Do they really think they have an economy in Scotland that could support everybody without help from the rest of the UK? Because I think they’ll have a bigger shock.

What is it about the rest of the UK they are so upset about? Are we really that bad? Because every time I hear little Jimmy Krankie bleating on about another referendum because it didn’t go her way last time, it makes me think that maybe here in England we should have a referendum to see whether we want to continue supporting Scotland.

I feel quite hurt and I am a quarter Scot. In fact, I am a pure-bred British mongrel: half Welsh, a quarter English and a quarter Scot.

You couldn’t get any more unified than that.

WITH all this doom and gloom we’ve had to put up with for the last year, things are definitely getting better. The economy looks good, the Government seems to be in control and socialism is on the way out.

And to put the cherry on the cake, so to speak, I have just been told by Nanny that Gwyneth Paltrow has created a customised candle that she claims smells like Kim Kardashian’s orgasm.

It’s amazing what people will spend their money on. I’m now wondering what kind of aroma I could bottle or maybe put into a candle. The mind boggles.

And if Gwyneth starts selling the Kim candle I might just buy one for inspiration.

WELL, that was a really interesting result in the recent elections across Britain. Not too sure why Sadiq Khan got back as Mayor of London when most of the country turned its back on the stupid woke-ism that he champions.

Sadly the capital will have to suffer some more. But there is hope at the end of this ridiculous tunnel, in which certain politicians and celebrities have been seen taking the knee.

If anybody can tell me a better nation to live in, feel free to let me know, but the majority of us have realised this country ain’t doing too bad.

I’m a big fan of Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Manchester. I think he’s a great bloke and he’s doing that city proud. What a shame he doesn’t want be Mayor of London.

I never thought I’d say this but maybe the Labour Party needs a new Tony Blair. Hopefully the Momentum mugs have realised that they and a lot of the other negative voices in this nation have had their day.
