THE PETROL CRISIS HAS BROUGHT OUT THE VERY WORST ASPECTS OF HUMAN NATURE

-

HASN’T THE so-called fuel shortage shown a rather nasty side of humanity? The crisis, as far as I’m concerned, has nothing to do with the EU dictatorship. The whole panic was caused by us not doing the British thing of keeping calm and carrying on.

People decided that they had to rush out and buy as much fuel as they could, some of them even stupidly filling up buckets and water bottles, and some trying to sell it to make a quick profit. The most annoying thing has been that some of the emergency vehicles have not been able to fill up.

Seeing people gormlessly sat in their cars for hours or joining the end of queues not really knowing where they’re going hasn’t shown us in a particularly good light, has it?

But I also wonder why Boris pontificated for so long about sending in the Army. Surely, in an emergency, that is what you do. I really regret that we didn’t clone Margaret Thatcher because we need a strong leader.

I’m not even going to talk about the boredom of watching Keir Starmer at the Labour conference, or the so-called Liberal conference before it, but I think if I was Boris I might call off this Conservative one.

He should be too busy sorting out the country’s problems.

And while I’m on this rant, what is the point of COP26, 27, 28 or whatever it is?

The climate is changing and it always has done. Get over it.Yes, absolutely, let’s clear up the planet – let’s get rid of all the plastic we can – but all these green issues and agendas don’t really seem to go anywhere and if the green mob got their way it wouldn’t make that much difference. In fact it might make it worse.

Or am I wrong?

You might not be able to find any fuel to add to the fire, but you’ll find me on talkRADIO, 10pm, Monday to Thursday, ready for the debate.
