Documentary: Earth: The Power Of The Planet, BBC4, 8pm
Dr Iain Stewart (left) investigates the powerful natural forces that shaped the planet over billions of years. Although they appear to be destructive, volcanoes have been crucial to the development of life on this planet. In this opening episode, he abseils to the edge of an Ethiopian lava lake and explores the underwater caverns believed to have been created by the meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs. The presenter also explains the positive role played by the greenhouse effect many millennia ago in ending the last Ice Age. On his travels he visits Iceland to scuba dive and heads to New Zealand to sample some hot springs.

Perez and Tosh board the dive boat to investigate this latest death. Was this a tragic accident, or was the only witness to Galbraith’s murder silenced before they could speak? Suspicion falls on Mick Muir, the Life Support Supervisor responsible for diver safety – and when he is attacked by angry crew members, he has to be rushed to hospital. Perez senses the hand of organised crime, but getting answers proves difficult. Drama, with Douglas Henshall, left.
Documentary: Brian Johnson’s A Life On The Road, Sky Arts, 9pm
One of rock’s most iconic and tour-hardened frontmen, AC/DC’s Brian Johnson (left), is in the hotseat again as he takes an exclusive look at the fabled rock and roll life on tour. Legendary Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason (right) gives Brian a tour of his car collection in the Cotswolds and reveals the secrets behind his band’s elaborate and breathtaking live shows.

Catching up with two house-hunters with different needs – Indu and Jason, who in 2018 wanted to find a family home with potential in Guildford, and fashion designer Shane, who was keen to leave the bustle of the city and make a new life on the north Kent coast way back in 2003. Now Phil Spencer (left) returns to find out if the homes that he and Kirstie Allsopp (right) found have reaped rewards.
Film: Exodus: Gods and Kings, Film4, 6.05pm
Biblical epic directed by Ridley Scott, and starring Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton. After learning of his Hebrew slave heritage, Moses is banished from Egypt by King Ramses. After being spoken to by God, Moses begins a difficult quest to lead his people to the Promised Land. Bale really makes his mark in the role of Moses, who is exiled from Egypt by his friend-turnedenemy Ramses. He goes on to meet God, who is controversially depicted as a petulant juvenile.
