Saving this planet is just a political cop-out

-

WELL, COP whatever, it is, is with us. Aren’t we excited? Haven’t we all got butterflies in our tummy about our future? Well, no we haven’t. Let’s be completely honest with ourselves: none of the science proves it. Man is a dirty, horrible species which uses too much of everything if it can, leaves others with nothing, never cleans up after itself and leaves the doors and windows open all the time. This whole business of bringing world leaders together is such a flipping waste of time. They travel here in expensive planes, eat masses of food and probably leave loads leftover and talk to try to make themselves feel better and look better to their people. And that’s if they in fact are from a democracy.

It’s a complete waste of time. It could have been done online. We all know that the climate is changing and it always will, sometimes faster than others. And yes, we have had a lot to do with it.

But suddenly taxing us out of existence and bringing on electric cars which will be just as polluting in their own way is not the way to go about it.All of them should have been stopped from coming over here. The amount of pollution must be incredible and it will achieve nothing.

TIM DAVIE, BBC Director-General, has said that comedy shouldn’t be afraid to insult. That at least is something sensible coming out of this once-great organisation. The best comedy always insults or offends, because deep inside ourselves, however woke we may be, we get a bit of a laugh from being rude.

It’s a lot better than being violent, so grow a thick skin and if you don’t find somebody funny, you don’t have to listen to them.

But looking at some of the comedians today, one has to admit, they’re all a bit wet. We need some hard-hitting comics. There were lots of comedians I found really quite disgusting in the past, but that doesn’t mean they should be cancelled. It just means that you have to use your own judgment on what you find acceptable – and not try to impose your standards on other people.

To those who appointed themselves the arbiters of good taste in this country, nobody gave you permission to tell us what we should be listening to.

IT’S AMAZING. Now they want calling people fat to be a hate crime. When I was at school, everybody who was fat got called fat – but there weren’t very many fatties around back then.

I do understand that for some people, being overweight is a medical problem but for lots of us it’s because we’re lazy and don’t watch what we eat.

Today, every second person you see of any gender – or none, see, I can be politically correct – has bulges hanging over their belt. But that aside, I am concerned that politically-correct millennials think they can tell us all what we should do and think.
