Nature: Joanna Lumley And The Human Swan, ITV, 9pm
The actress follows conservationist and paramotorist Sacha Dench (far left), aka the Human Swan, as she flies around Britain urging people to tackle the climate crisis. Together Joanna (centre) and Sacha come face to face with the very real threats – crumbling coastlines, homes lost and endangered seabirds and Scottish wildcats. They also chat to a number of climate heroes who are dedicating their lives to making a difference – beach cleaners, hi-tech food scientists, zero carbon home dwellers, sustainable fashion designers, windfarm technicians and Highland rewilders. Action fantasy adventure with Brenton Thwaites, Gerard Butler (left) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. In Ancient Egypt the evil god of darkness, Set, seizes the throne for himself, wounding its rightful owner Horus in the process. It falls to a lowly thief, Bek, to help Horus rise up and challenge the usurper and free the nation’s enslaved people. As well as saving the world, Bek is also on a mission to rescue his one true love. Also starring Rufus Sewell and Geoffrey Rush.
History: Lost Home Movies Of Nazi Germany, BBC4, 9pm
Thousands of German attics have become dumping grounds for endless hours of home movies which give an insight into what life was like for those living in Nazi Germany. This show delves into these collections, which are only now emerging, to reveal how Germans recorded the regime, featuring films from citizens as well as Nazi Party organisers, firemen, local officials and soldiers on the frontline. Part one of two.
Reality: UK’s Strongest Man 2021, C5, 7pm
All the action from the three-day competition in Milton Keynes, where some of the UK’s fittest men put their strength to the test. In the first episode of this five-part series, the finalists are split into two groups for the quarter-finals, including defending champion Gavin Bilton (above). The eight contestants in Group A are the first to take centre stage, with challenges such as the super yoke carry and the car deadlift hold.
Opera: The Barber Of Seville, Sky Arts, 9pm
The English National Opera’s spectacular 2013 production of Rossini’s timeless and mesmerising masterpiece conducted by Will Humburg, with the Budapest Failoni Chamber Orchestra. Based on Pierre Beaumarchais’s 1775 French comedy, Le Barbier De Séville, the opera tells the story of mischievous barber Figaro who helps Count Almaviva prise the attractive Rosina away from her lecherous guardian, Dr Bartolo.
