Final episode of the competition in which eight members of the public try to solve a murder mystery written by novelist Ian Rankin. A week has passed since Charly Hendricks was stabbed and the killer is still out there. The one team of rookie detectives still on the case are starting to close in on the potential murderer. Having turned their attention to the victim’s past, they have crossed off a number of suspects and their focus is on two people. Arresting both, they hope to break them down in interview. Can the team convince one of them to admit their guilt – and in the process win the cash reward? Featuring police experts Parm Sandhu, Graham McMillan and Simon Harding (left).
Comedy: Goodness Gracious Me - 20 Years Innit!, BBC4, 9pm
To celebrate the hit show’s 20th anniversary, this special looks back at some of the funniest moments from the award-winning series, including the 10 most memorable sketches – featuring the likes of The Kupers/Coopers, Mr Everything Comes From India, Chunky Lafunga, Cheque Please and Competitive Mums. It features interviews with stars of the show, such as Nina Wadia (left), its creators and comedian fans of the series.
Reality: Saving Lives At Sea, BBC2, 8pm
When a climber falls in a remote cave on the Gower Peninsula, the Mumbles crew are called in to search and rescue. Meanwhile in Portreath, lifeguards battle to save a teenager who’s determined to surf despite red flag warnings. And on the Isle of Wight, the Yarmouth crew must track down a man in the water amongst more than one thousand boats competing in the annual Round The Island race.
Documentary: 1000 Years A Slave, C5, 10pm
In May 2020, 46-year-old black man George Floyd (right) was killed by a police officer after being arrested outside a shop in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The shocking event caused widespread outrage and, within weeks, the statue of Britain’s most famous slave trader was toppled by Black Lives Matter protesters in Bristol. Historian David Olusoga returns to the city to see the statue of Edward Colston on display for the first time. Final episode of the series.
Film: Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets, Film4, 6.05pm
Sci-fi adventure with Dane DeHaan, Cara Delevingne (both above) and Rihanna. In the 28th century a dark force threatens Alpha City, a space-travelling planet inhabited by millions of species from a thousand planets. In order to save the future of the universe, intergalactic agents Valerian and Laureline must identify the culprit and stop them before it’s too late.
