A MAN has been charged with the murder of a 20-year-old have-a-go hero who rescued a great gran.

Ali Abucar Ali died from his injuries when he was repeatedly stabbed after coming to the aid of 82-year-old BettyWalsh, right.

The mum of six had been punched and knifed as she went to order a kebab near her home in Brentford, west London, on Friday night.

She added: “I knew him and his mother. They are a very good family.

“Ali was a really hardworking, good lad who had recently won a scholarship, we think it was to play basketball.”

A woman who lives near the murder scene said of Ali: “He was a hero .What he did was so honourable.”
