Students must learn to listen to both sides

-

CAN ANYBODY tell me what is it about today’s students that they can’t take part in a debate for fear of hearing an argument they don’t like or being told something they don’t agree with?

A gang of them engineered a very rude altercation outside the London School of Economics the other day, hurling abuse at the Israeli ambassador. Yet as soon as you ask them to take part in a proper discussion they run for the hills.

I have been invited to Oxford and Cambridge universities to give an alternative point of view but now the ability to argue your point boisterously seems to have disappeared. Many complain about what a bearpit Prime Minister’s Questions is, but I think it’s great people are putting their points across in a very determined way.

Now the trendy left and their lecturers are inflicting their woke views on all those at university. Am I wrong? Available for the debate.

NOW FLOP26 has finished, I have come to the conclusion it is a total and utter waste of time, money and effort – most of it provided by us. The delegates talk rubbish, make promises that will never be kept, go on about the science and then travel in private planes and cavalcades of gas-guzzling cars.

It’s one big joke – we can’t even find a way to feed every human being on this planet, which is in fact achievable.

Greta Thunberg’s “blah, blah, blah” jibe at our useless leaders was spot on.

I HAVE just listened to a podcast by a couple, made up of a lady with long blonde hair who identifies as she and her, and a guy who has a beard and identifies as he and him. I’m just an ordinary bloke and I might have got these pronouns mixed up... but what is this all about?

And this madness is now infecting corporate Britain. M&S has said that all staff can identify in the way they wish on their name badges.

Who came up with all these daft ideas? Did a bunch of idiots sitting in a room somewhere suddenly decide we should be allowed to identify as anything we want?

I have a very good friend who transitioned from one sex to another and I sympathise with anyone who feels they are in the wrong body.

But this is just trivialising that pain. If I see one of these stupid badges bearing ridiculous identifications like “them” and “they” I’m going to struggle to keep a straight face.
