FREE PACKET OF SUNFLOWER SEEDS Pick up at

-

Show your support for the brave people of Ukraine by growing their national flower, the beautiful sunflower. We’ve teamed up with Dobbies to give you the chance to pick up a free packet of Mr Fothergill’s Giant Single Sunflower seeds from one of 74 Dobbies Garden Centres across the UK to encourage unity by planting this unique flower.

THE sunflower has a long, rich history as an important part of Ukrainian culture dating back to the 1800s, and is a common sight in village gardens all across the country as well as a major export from the seeds and oil. The sunflower is traditionally used in celebratory headdress, paintings and fabric weaving. Recently, the sunflower has become a symbol of resistance and strength – used by both civilians and the army to spread the message of hope.

To plant, all you need is 9cm pots, peat-free compost, bamboo canes and seeds.

Simply sow a seed in each 9cm pot with peat-free compost. Start them off on a

bright windowsill, planting outside once frosts have finished. Don’t forget to water regularly. There are over 70 seeds in the packet so why not share plants with your family and friends. For more tips on growing your sunflowers, visit the special advice section at dobbies.com.
