Screams as evil trio convicted of killing Logan, 5

- By Chris Riches

AWOMAN who murdered her five-year-old son, who was then dumped like “fly-tipped rubbish”, faces life behind bars.

Angharad Williamson, 31, her lover John Cole, 40, and a 14 year old who cannot be named, were found guilty yesterday of killing Logan Mwangi last July.

Williamson fell to the ground screaming, “No, no, no” as she heard the verdict and blamed Cole as she was led to the cells.

Logan had 56 “catastrophic” injuries following a “brutal and sustained” attack at his home, Cardiff Crown Court was told.

The court heard his body had been dumped in the River

Ogmore, yards from his home in Sarn, Bridgend, South Wales.

Police found his partially submerged body dressed in a pair of dinosaur pyjama bottoms and a Spider-Man top.

His injuries, including liver and bowel tears, were likened to a road traffic accident.

The trial heard days before his death, Logan was treated like a prisoner in his bedroom after testing positive for Covid. Caroline Rees QC, prosecuting, said Williamson and Cole made him face the wall when they took him food. CCTV footage showed Cole and the teenager moving Logan’s body to the river at around 3am and returning to pick up the dinosaur pyjama top he had been wearing. Williamson claimed she had been asleep all night, but phone evidence showed she had been watching YouTube videos.

The jury also heard a faked frantic 999 call from Williamson and police bodycam footage showed Cole “comforting” her.

Williamson and the teen were also found guilty of perverting the course of justice, which Cole had earlier admitted. All three will be sentenced at a later date.

Outside court, Logan’s tearful father, Ben Mwangi, said: “I loved him so much and somehow I have to live my life knowing I will never get to see him grow up into the wonderful man I knew he could be.”
