Clarets hit back late to stay on top

TWO stoppage-time goals helped Burnley move five points clear at the top of the Championship as they beat 10-man Rotherham 3-2.

The Clarets won it thanks to Halil Dervisoglu’s 100th-minute finish.

Rotherham struck early when Ben Wiles nodded home Brooke Norton-Cuffy’s cross. Burnley’s Jay Rodriguez tapped home his ninth goal of the season 10 minutes before the break.

Josh Tymon’s 62nd minute goal earned Stoke a precious 1-0 victory and piled more misery on Wigan, who now have five defeats in a row and seven in the last eight.

Birmingham keeper John Ruddy made a superb late save from Millwall sub Tyler Burey in a 0-0 draw.

Alex Pritchard silenced taunts as he helped to seal

Sunderland’s 2-0 win over rock-bottom Huddersfield.
