Three Graces have been making delicious Rose Gin in small batches in Liverpool for several years. In 2020, they branched out and their cinnamon-infused, honeyed rum is a treat. 2 Lyme Bay Jack Ratt Lugger Rum 70cl (£45, 40%)
Named after a notorious former smuggler and produced near Lyme Regis in Devon, this Lugger Rum (the name originates from the fast fishing boats used outwit the excise men) is aged in bourbon-charred oak barrels before flavouring with nutmeg, orange-peel and cloves. 3 Dark Matter Rum 70cl (£29, 40%)
Dark Matter is Scotland’s first home-produced rum. Ginger, pepper, all-spice berries and green peppercorns give it a sweet, tingly finish. A superb dark rum with a highly moreish quality. Available from Majestic.
4 Bristol Black Spiced Rum 70cl (£51.98, 42%)
Created using a blend of aged rum with fruit and spice for flavouring, notes of cinnamon and mulled wine make this a seasonal favourite. Not the sweetest rum on the market but plenty of fab flavours. Ideal with ice or mixers. Available from Master of Malt.
5 Beaufort Three Tides Rum 70cl (£34.99, 40%)
Another fabulous blend of three Caribbean rums infused locally with British gorse, elderflower and oats, this dark rum has a rich, smokey flavour and sensational spicy finish. Superb over ice. Available from BeauFort Spirits, Amazon and Master of Malt.
