Thriller: Grace, ITV3, 8pm

The Brighton-based crime drama returns with John Simm as Detective Superinten­dent Roy Grace (left) – a hard-working police officer who has given his life to the job. Grace suspects the sudden death of a former schoolteac­her in a respectabl­e Brighton backwater may not be the drugs overdose it first appears. When human remains are discovered in a field, he and Branson are drawn into an investigat­ion that will test their friendship to the breaking point. Though each case initially appears to be an isolated incident, instinct leads Grace to believe they are the work of a twisted, sadistic serial killer. Crime drama, also starring Rakie Ayola, Richie Campbell and Adrian Rawlins.

Arts: Between The Covers, BBC2, 7pm

Host Sara Cox (left) invites over more of her famous friends all eager to share the joys of the latest top reads as part of her book club. Tonight, actor and author Ruth Jones, comedian and writer Kae Kurd, Harry Potter star Jessie Cave, and director and actor Samuel West all catch-up with Sara to discuss their favourite books, as well as reviewing this week’s two book club choices – The Second Sight Of Zachary Cloudesley by Sean Lusk and Snap by Belinda Bauer.

Sport: The Phenomenon: Ronaldo, BBC4, 9.30pm

A World Cup at just 17, and two world-record transfers and the Ballon d’Or at 21 – this was just the start of the story of Brazilian footballer Ronaldo (above), who in 1997 was considered one of the best in the game’s history. This documentar­y charts the true tale of how, despite his extraordin­ary speed, skill and power, within a year Ronaldo’s career was in jeopardy due to a string of injuries and unimaginab­le press scrutiny.

News: The Men Who Sold The World Cup, Quest, 10pm

Journalist­s Heidi Blake and Jonathan Calvert present this three-part exploratio­n of alleged corruption at the heart of Fifa which has plagued the World Cup tournament, and consider whether it led to the selection of Qatar to host the 2022 World Cup. With just weeks to go until the event, this show investigat­es the role of key players at the centre of the controvers­y, including Fifa president Sepp Blatter (above).

Travel: Miriam And Alan: Lost In Scotland And Beyond, C4, 9.15pm

Miriam Margolyes (right), Alan Cumming and Alan’s dog Lala rediscover more Scottish roots and journey across the pond to their other mutual home in California. In tonight’s episode, the hosts visit the Isle of Skye, where Miriam and Heather first went on holiday over 50 years ago. Alan takes the pair on a boat trip to see dolphins while Skye’s resident wand whittler gives them a lesson in wood carving, and Alan gets in trouble with the seaweed king.
