CALLING ELECTION NOW WOULD LET US ALL VOICE VIEWS ON WHERE BRITAIN FALLS SHORT

-

COME on, let’s have an election now! Let’s see how many people believe Rishi Sunak can continue to run this country.

But first, let’s not forget how things ended with the last Labour government, in power for almost as long as the present Conservative one. When its members left office in 2010, the nation was broke – without a worldwide pandemic or war as an excuse.

Like the majority of people, I’m not very happy about our choices at the moment. Too many politicians aren’t prepared to tackle the issues that matter most to the nation. For starters, we must improve our cost-of-living situation and pay back our huge debt.

But what we must prioritise is the large numbers of people arriving here from abroad, wherever it is they come from. We must kick out bogus asylum seekers too.

We also need greater investment in our armed forces, whose once great numbers have been run down by our idiotic politicians. We have the best troops in the entire world but we desperately more of them and greater funding for defence in general. Only then will we be safer and more secure at this worryingly unpredictable time in our country’s history.

What’s more, our police must become a robust force again, not some sort of miserable mental health service.Violent crime, especially knife crime, needs to be tackled with tough, well-trained police officers. Instead, too many chief constables worry about stop and searches causing offence.

So let’s have an election while we all feel the way we do. Goodness knows who will win – but if it is Rishi Sunak, then let him be in no doubt what the priorities are.
