WELL-CONNECTED: The Allen family

-

Known since the 1980s for both comedy and acting, Keith Allen, 61, stars in tonight’s episode of SunTrap (10.35pm, BBC1). The Allen family is quite a talented bunch… Like his brother, Keith, Kevin Allen (1), 55, was closely connected to The Comic Strip Presents… in the 1980s, but also had major roles in Ben Elton’s stage hit Silly Cow and in TV sitcom The Thin Blue Line. More recently, he has turned his hand to directing, with credits including ITV’s Benidorm. Married with four children, he farms rare-breed pigs in Ireland. Singer Lily Allen (2), 30, is Keith’s daughter from his marriage to film producer Alison Owen, whose credits include 1998’s

Elizabeth (in which Lily had a small cameo as a lady-in-waiting). Lily and her siblings count none other than Harry Enfield, Owen’s partner for several years, as a surrogate stepdad. Notable for being one of the first artists to use social media to build a fanbase, Lily’s career took off in 2006 with debut album Alright, Still, which reached number two in the UK. She married Sam, a builder, in 2011, and has two daughters. Fans of Game Of Thrones will recognise Keith’s son Alfie Allen (3), 28, as Theon Greyjoy/Reek – Lily’s fans will know him as the subject of her song Alfie, about a kid wasting his life away in his bedroom. He also had a cameo in Elizabeth (as the Earl of Arundel’s son) and he certainly hasn’t wasted his life, steadily building a career with smaller roles in Brit indie fare. He’s also found time to squeeze in a high-profile on-off romance (currently off) with Jaime (daughter of Ray) Winstone.
