7PM, BBC4 British composer Michael Tippett’s (left) soulful oratorio was first performed in 1944, in London, and was inspired by his horror at the Nazi persecution of the Jews. That’s the second half – to open the Prom, there’s the booming final scene of Wagner’s Die Walkure.
