Hugh’s War On Waste: The Battle Continues 9PM, BBC1
Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall (right) continues his mission to get us to change our throwaway culture and cut back on the vast mountains of waste we produce. Having tackled food waste last year, this time, he’s confronting corporate giants, including a triumvirate of coffee shops which, between them, contribute to the staggering 2.5 billion cardboard cups we discard annually – 99 per cent of them end up in landfill or incineration. Waste is the one environmental disaster we can all do something about – so what are we waiting for?
Full Steam Ahead 8PM, BBC2
Historians Ruth Goodman, Alex Langlands and Peter Ginn continue to examine how the Victorian railways created modern Britain.
