When aliens arrive on Earth, rather than being seen as invaders, they are treated as refugees, and are segregated into ghettos. The political metaphors are conspicuous in new boy Neill Blomkamp’s South Africa-set sci-fi thriller, but this is also entertaining and technically impressive.
