None But The Brave

(1965) PG 2PM, BBC2 Frank Sinatra’s only foray into film directing (he had produced before) falls a bit flat. What makes it interesting is that it’s a rare collaboration between American and Japanese talent – played out on screen, too, as forces from each side work together to survive on a remote Pacific island.

The Watch

(2012) 15 10.35PM, CH4 Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade make an odd mix in this messy suburban comedy with an unexpected sci-fi twist. Stiller is the shop manager fashioning a neighbourhood watch group from a bunch of misfits, and stumbling upon an alien plot to take over their town.

Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky

(2009) 15 12.15AM, BBC2 The second of two 2009 films about Coco Chanel – the other, Coco Before Chanel, starred Audrey Tautou. This focuses on a rumoured romance between the fashion designer (Anna Mouglalis) and the composer Stravinsky (Mads Mikkelsen), an enfant terrible of his time.
