Another Day In The Death Of America

9.45AM (FM), 12.30AM, RADIO 4 Nine-year-old Jaiden was shot as he left his house to go to school, and he died the next day, on November 23, 2013. Nine other children across America were killed by guns on that day, and none of their deaths made the national news. Gary Younge tells the story of the short lives of these children.

The Wonder

10.45PM, RADIO 4 Lib, who served as a nurse at Scutari with Florence Nightingal­e, is hired by a newspaper to stay with a girl in an Irish village. The child has not eaten for weeks, and claims that she lives on ‘manna from Heaven’. Her bleak room is now a place of pilgrimage, and it’s Lib’s job to find out what’s going on. Carey Mulligan is the reader for this ten-part adaptation of Emma Donoghue’s new novel.

10PM, RADIO 2 Ken Bruce presents this two-part tribute (concludes tomorrow) to Terry Wogan, which includes memories from some of Terry’s colleagues, friends and fans. There is also music from some of the artistes who Terry helped to promote.
