10PM, CH4 Written by Morwenna Banks and Jo Brand, who also star, this bittersweet comedy – set in the children’s services department of fictional Elm Heath council – delivers wellaimed observations on office politics and work situations that ring painfully true. Brand and Alan Davies (far right) are the dedicated social workers balancing ‘needs thresholds’ with their own knotty personal lives and incompetent ‘interim workers’ – i.e., temps – while ex-East-Enders actor Himesh Patel (near right), as the stuff y office snitch, reveals a natural flair for comedy.
