THE JUDGES, RULES AND PRIZES

The Great British Wildlife Photography Challenge is open to all amateur photographers, to be judged by our panel including Anita, David Suchet (left), Liz Bonnin, Clive Anderson, bird expert David Lindo and our technical judges Gray Levett and Simon Stafford. There are five categories: 1. Mammals; 2. Birds; 3. Insects; 4. Fish, Reptiles, Amphibians and Molluscs; 5. Under-18s. Entries must be submitted by email by 30 October 2016 and the winners will be announced in Weekend. Category winners will have their photos published in the magazine and put on display and receive a Nikon D5500 camera, lenses, a

memory card and a year’s subscription to Nikon Owner magazine, as part of a £1,000 package. The overall winner also receives a four-day trip to Slovakia with Simon Stafford for a masterclass in photographing brown bears and lynx. THE RULES

All photos must have been taken in the British Isles. Studies of pets or animals kept in captivity are ineligible. Only amateurs can enter. Entrants can submit photos in more than one category but no more than three in total.

Entrants cannot submit photos that have previously won any award or commendation.

Entrants must verify the provenance of each image and, if they win, must provide the original file to confirm it hasn’t been manipulated in a significant way.

If shortlisted, entrants must submit a high-resolution version of their photo.
