DRAMA
The Level
ITV HUB ITV’s Brighton-set crime drama delivered a strong first episode, at the centre of which was the thoroughly convincing Karla Crome as DS Nancy Devlin – a promising young detective with a lot of secrets. Look out, too, for Rob James-Collier (the conniving Thomas from Downton) in a refreshingly different role.
Cold Feet
ITV HUB The new series reached its halfway point last week, as Adam was forced to make a decision about Angela, and Pete provided Jen with unexpected insight into her sister. COMEDY
Morgana Robinson’s The Agency
BBC iPLAYER The impressionist Morgana Robinson plays every client of a starry talent agency in this ingenious, mockumentary-style series. This isn’t a short roster, either, and Morgana sparkles as everyone from Joanna Lumley to Danny Dyer and both Mel and Sue.
Damned
ALL 4 Jo Brand, Alan Davies and Kevin Eldon star in Channel 4’s comedy set in an office of social workers. It has a slightly sunnier feel than the pilot, which was on Sky Arts, but is just as well-observed on the details of office life.
DOCUMENTARY Earth’s Seasonal Secrets
BBC iPLAYER This delightful film from the BBC Natural History Unit, narrated by Sherlock’s Andrew Scott, follows animals as they prepare for winter. There’s footage of beavers felling trees with their teeth, bears catching salmon, and penguins feeding their fluff y chicks.
The Retreat With Nick Knowles
BBC iPLAYER What’s all this ‘alternative therapy’ and ‘wellbeing’ business about, then? Nick Knowles is answering that question for us by spending 28 days at a resort in Thailand that says it will change his ‘inner space’. All five parts of his odyssey into fasting, detox and spiritual enlightenment are on catch-up. ENTERTAINMENT
The Graham Norton Show
BBC iPLAYER The quality of guests that Norton attracts is a sign of his show’s quality. Last Friday, he returned with Justin Timberlake, Anna Kendrick, Daniel Radcliffe and Robbie Williams. LAST CHANCE
Goodnight Sweetheart
BBC iPLAYER The revival episode leaves iPlayer soon, but you can see the original series from Tuesday at 9.20pm on Yesterday. Until Sunday.
