Can anything normal involving cars ever happen in this village? When people aren’t being bundled into boots or having sex in the front seat, they’re having dramas mid-journey. This week it’s the turn of Charity and Cain who, after deciding to go away to France (pictured), have an argument that changes their plans. But why do the police have to pull Cain’s car from the bottom of a lake, and is there anyone in it? (Look in the boot; that’s your safest bet).

Meanwhile, Rebecca is waiting to learn if Lawrence is her father. If he is, how will it affect Chrissie’s inheritance? Just make sure your name’s down for the wine cellar, Chrissie.
