PICK OF THE DAY
The Great British Bake Off
8PM, BBC1
Though events outside the tent this year have overshadowed those that have taken place inside, for the contestants, it’s been as eventful as any other series. Ten weeks ago, 12 bakers began the process with hope in their hearts; now, just Jane, Candice and Andrew (right, with Mel Giedroyc) remain. Tonight, the trio battle it out to be the last winner before the show (or whatever crumbs of it remain) decamps to Channel 4, tackling the most complex final showstopper Mary and Paul have ever devised. For two of the bakers, it will be a bake too far.
The Missing
9PM, BBC1
In 2014, Herz the butcher is horrified to learn that he’s been accused of Sophie and Alice’s abduction, while Julien makes the most of an invitation to the Websters’ house, only to find himself out on his ear. As the revelations continue in episode three of this complex, eightpart drama, making sense of them is easier said than done.
HIM
9PM, ITV
As his powers start to spiral out of control, the unnamed teenager with supernatural skills makes a shocking discovery about the death of his grandfather in episode two of the slow-burning drama. When his next nosebleed results in someone needing an ambulance, he turns to his therapist for help. But how to prove he’s not a fantasist?
Grand Designs
9PM, CH4
In 2005, Simon and Jasmine Dale’s beautiful, hand-built ‘hobbit house’ caused quite a stir. This week, Kevin McCloud follows the Dales’ quest to build another unique family home in the hills of rural Pembrokeshire – as part of a pioneering, governmentbacked, sustainable village – with just £500 in the bank.
