As Sky (on the channel usually known as Sky Greats) continues its Harry Potter marathon (from 6am), we look at some facts and figures relating to the blockbuste­r film franchise…

11 The age of Daniel Radcliffe when he was cast as the boy wizard (1). Harry Potter And The Philosophe­r’s Stone – the first film – was released in 2001, when Daniel was 12; costars Emma Watson (Hermione) was 11 when it came out, and Rupert Grint (Ron) was 13.

£150,000 The amount Daniel reportedly earned for that first film. The series ended in

2011, with part two of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows – for the two-part finale, Daniel made an astonishin­g £13 million per film.
