DEFINITE ARTICLE

We ask a celebrity a set of probing questions – and only accept THE definitive answer. This week it’s model and former Strictly winner Abbey Clancy

- As told to Rob McGibbon

‘I’ve been with Peter Crouch for 11 years now so I’ve got football trivia etched into my brain. And I hate football’

The prized possession you value above all others…

My Teacup Maltese terrier Bella. I got her last month after our previous dog Scamp, a Maltese/Yorkshire terrier cross, was run over and died. I was devastated, but having Bella has helped me get over it. She rules the roost at home.

The biggest regret you wish you could amend...

I travel a lot, so I wish I’d learned to speak other languages.

The temptation you wish you could resist…

Interfering in other people’s business – I volunteer to fix problems but I only make things worse.

The book that holds an everlasting resonance...

The Music Management Bible, which explains the ins and outs of the music industry. It’s one of my dreams to discover an unsigned band and turn them into superstars.

The priority activity if you were the Invisible Woman for a day…

I’d hang out with the Rolling Stones and watch Mick Jagger and Keith Richards writing songs together. They’re incredible artists.

The pet hate that makes your hackles rise...

Laziness. I’m on the go every day, so I hate it when people waste their time. Seize the day before it’s too late.

The person who has influenced you most…

My mum Karen gave me my work ethic and taught me to be kind and happy. If I can be half as good a mum to my children [Sophia Ruby, five, and Liberty Rose, one] as she’s been to me, I’ll be super proud.

The figure from history for whom you’d most like to buy a pie and a pint…

I love The Beatles, so I’d go back and meet Brian Epstein in the earliest days of being their manager. I’d love to know how he made them a success.

The film you can watch time and time again…

Bridget Jones’s Diary always has me laughing my head off.

The piece of wisdom you would pass on to a child…

Be kind and always be yourself. It’s important for kids to do well at school, but it’s also vital t hat thei r personalities aren’t squashed.

The unending quest that drives you on…

To keep growing. There’s still so much I want to achieve.

The unlikely interest that engages your curiosity…

Football trivia. I actually hate football, but I’ve been with Peter [Stoke City striker Peter Crouch] for 11 years so a lot of information has been etched into my brain subconsciously.

The treasured item you lost and wish you could have again…

My friend Neale Pirie, who was my hairdresser on Strictly in 2013 and worked with me for two years afterwards. He died suddenly last year aged 42 and it hit me hard. He was so talented and kind.

The poem that touches your soul…

Some lyrics from George Harrison’s song Blow Away move me so much that I had them made into a neon piece of art. It reads, ‘All I got to do is to love you. All I got to be is be happy.’

The misapprehension about yourself you wish you could erase…

That I have a team of nannies to look after my kids. I’m hands-on and only my mum looks after them when I’m working.

The event that altered the course of your life and character…

A car crash I had in my Mini in 2008. I was going to Liverpool on the M56 and swerved to miss a car bumper that was in the road. I crashed into the central reservation and the car flipped upside down. I wasn’t hurt, but I could have died. I used to bomb around without concentrating, but now I drive like a snail.

The crime you would commit knowing you could get away with it…

I’d track down the driver who left Scamp for dead. I’m not sure what I’d do, but it wouldn’t be pretty!

The song that means most to you…

Bitter Sweet Symphony by The Verve – it’s bleak but beautiful.

The way you would spend your fantasy 24 hours, with no travel restrictions...

I’d spend all day with Peter, the kids and our extended families. We’d start at a beachfront hotel in Hawaii with a huge buffet breakfast. I’d have a green smoothie, then muesli and fruit, then eggs and pastries and muffins – the lot! Then we’d go to the best theme park in the world that would be open just for us. After that I’d take the kids horse riding. Then our friends would join us on a superyacht that would sail to Ibiza. Mary Poppins would be there to take care of the kids so we’d have a boozy lunch, which would end with dancing on the tables. I’d recover in the spa at Le Royal Meridien hotel in Dubai. In the evening all my favourite indie bands would play a gig in London – and Oasis would reform to be the headline act. The day would end in my own bed in London.

The happiest moment you will cherish forever…

Nothing comes close to the births of my babies, but winning Strictly was absolutely crazy.

The saddest time that shook your world…

When Scamp died. I’d had him for six years and loved him to bits.

The unfulfilled ambition that continues to haunt you…

I’ve always wanted to be a Victoria’s Secret underwear model. I’m only 30, so who knows.

The philosophy that underpins your life…

Life is short, so get out there and do as much as you can.

The order of service at your funeral…

I don’t want to answer that because it would be tempting fate!

The way you want to be remembered…

As a good mum, a thoughtful daughter and a loyal and fun friend.

The Plug…
