Sleeping with your partner or former partner’s sibling is a common occurrence in soapland. There may be plenty of fish in the sea but why cast your net wide when you can just get it on with an in-law? Coronation Street’s Peter Barlow is the latest character to keep it in the family now he’s an item with Toyah Battersby, the sister of his ex-wife Leanne. Leanne is now with Nick Tilsley, who once dated her sister Eva. Nick, in turn, had a one-night stand with brother David’s wife Kylie.

Debbie Dingle will soon make an explosive return to Emmerdale and will no doubt continue to flit between brothers Pete and Ross Barton (and for added ‘ick’ factor let’s not forget Ross also slept with Debbie’s mum Charity.)

DOES DENISE GIVE UP HER BABY? There’s nothing the ladies of Walford love more than a surprise party, and the week starts with one when Carmel throws an impromptu baby shower for Denise.

Following a conversation with Denise, Mick puts two and two together and tells Shirley he suspects that Buster might be the father of the baby. A furious Shirley confronts Denise about the paternity of her unborn child (pictured). Will Denise be forced to admit the horrible truth that Phil Mitchell is responsible?

Mick celebrates his birthday and Whitney is determined to make it a night to remember.

At the end of the night Aunt Babe corners Whitney and tells her she’s ruined Lee’s life. Babe may be an evil old battleaxe but I’ll miss her when she leaves soon – actress Annette Badland has played her brilliantly and I’m sad producers decided to give her the chop.

By the end of the week what feels like the longest pregnancy in soap is finally over. Denise is induced and gives birth. As she holds the newborn, will she be able to go ahead with her plan to give the baby up for adoption?
