AN UNHAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR PHIL It’s Phil Mitchell’s birthday and the family tries to celebrate with the miserable so and so. He has some shocking news for Sharon (pictured), but chances are she has shocking news for him too, as he doesn’t know – and she does – that he’s the father of Denise’s baby. Later in the week Phil gets a suspicious phone call and agrees to meet the caller. Is it too much to hope it’s the hospital wanting his new liver back?

Everyone is concerned at how badly Jack is coping with Ronnie’s death, and Dot wonders whether it would be best for Matthew to go and live with his father Charlie. Charlie, who cheated on his wife while she was in a coma and then tried to kidnap his son? Oh yes, he’ll be a great role model. Worse still for Matthew is that evil granny Glenda is determined to have her say when it comes to the future of her grandchildren, even though she’s barely spent more than five minutes with them until now. Whitney and Lee are turning into the unhappiest married couple Walford’s ever known (against some stiff competition). When a drunken Lee gatecrashes Whitney’s girls’ night out he blames her for everything that’s gone wrong in his life and, by the end of the week, Whitney’s wondering if their marriage can survive.

Babe’s breakfast buffet venture at the Vic goes from strength to strength, leading to a turf war with Kathy and Tina at the café. By the end of the week the antics have landed one of them in big trouble.
