With the sixth series imminent, it’s still one of our most popular shows – the recent festive special topped the Christmas Day ratings. Though fictional, the stories are based on the lives of real people; in this one-off documentar­y, Stephen goes on a poignant journey to explore the fact behind the fiction, and to meet some of the people who have inspired the series’ most moving plotlines.
