It’s not for the sensitive, but Michaela Coel’s comedy about a mistake-prone young woman (Coel) trying to find her path on her council estate – in love, and with her challenging family – is admirably honest, and fizzes with energy and character. Both series are available.

DOCUMENTARY My Brain And Me BBC iPLAYER

For this powerful one-off film, Andrew Marr reflects on the stroke that nearly killed him in 2013, and explores the effects on his brain and his body – his movement is still limited, particularly down the left-hand side. Marr also travels to the US to learn whether a new treatment could improve his mobility. Terry Pratchett: Back In Black BBC iPLAYER Paul Kaye plays the Discworld author in this remarkable tribute, using the words of Pratchett’s unfinished autobiography to bring his life story to the screen. It’s an extraordinarily effective performance – funny, poignant, insightful – and is mixed with interviews with admirers and old footage of the author.
