Talent Time in 1982. By the time she was 12, she had her own fan club. Kylie got her big break in Neighbours in 1986.

Although her best-known acting role was as stroppy teen Emma in the soap Home And Away, Dannii was once cast as Lady Macbeth for an Edinburgh Festival production – one the director described as ‘more Austin Powers than William Shakespeare… think Casino, think Goodfellas.’ Her solo recording debut, the dance pop song Love And Kisses, reached number eight in the UK singles chart in 1991. In all, she’s had nine top ten hits, including I Begin To Wonder, which reached number two in 2003.

When Dannii posed for Playboy magazine in Australia in 1995, the issue sold out in under four days – and had to be reprinted. ‘My grandma called me and said I looked beautiful.’

She landed her place on the judging panel for The X Factor in 2007 after a successful stint that same year as a judge on Australia’s Got Talent.

Two of Dannii’s X Factor acts won the show: Leon Jackson in 2007 and Matt Cardle in 2010.
