Herald Of Disaster

Bear with this drama about the capsizing, in 1987, of the ferry the Herald of Free Enterprise, as it gets off to an awkward start. But soon, the drama moves backwards and forwards between the inquiry into the disaster and the ferry’s actual capsizing. The pressure on the crew to get the ferry out of harbour ahead of time, and the horror that then unfolds, is told graphically and convincingly. It’s a tough drama – but one well worth hearing.
