Do you remember these shows that were on TV this week ten, 20, 30 and 40 years ago?

1977

Musical drama Rock Follies Of ’77 made its debut but the plug was pulled after three episodes. The show, starring Julie Covington and Rula Lenska (right) as rock stars, was hit by industrial action at ITV and postponed for months.

1987

Mary Poppins star Dick Van Dyke played a judge who stabbed his two-timing mistress then framed her lover in ITV drama Matlock (right). ‘I’m associated with playing mostly good guys, this character was very different,’ said Dick.

1997

Robson Green and Nicola Walker prepared for their future roles in Grantchester and Unforgotten when they played detectives Creegan and Taylor in Touching Evil. Robson (right) had sleepless nights during filming, unable to shake off his tortured character.

2007

Georgia Moffett was cast with her dad Peter Davison in ITV drama The Last Detective (right). ‘People might think it was nepotism,’ said Peter, who played DC ‘Dangerous’ Davies, ‘but the director had worked with Georgia before and asked her to audition.’
