Top of the cops I’m so glad Maigret was given another series after so many other great shows have been axed. The clever stories kept me guessing until the end, and Rowan Atkinson is so convincing as Maigret [right] I almost forget he’s Mr Bean. The sultry music and Paris in the 50s setting are so atmospheric, and it’s amazing how they’ve re-created this world. I’m already looking forward to curling up on the sofa for more episodes.
