This new drama from the makers of Downton follows the fortunes of newly arrived women at the English colony of Jamestown, in the Americas, in 1619.

The costumes are first-rate, the script is a fleet-footed mix of drama and comedy, and Burn Gorman is on fine, moustachetwirling form as the scheming baddie (left).
