8PM, ITV In 2011, the bodies of five fishermen were washed up on a beach in Mexico. Strange wounds all over the men’s bodies led to a marine biologist being called in to help with the investigat­ion – could a vicious sea creature, dubbed ‘el diablo rojo’

(the red devil) by locals, be responsibl­e? In episode four of this riveting series, intrepid (and perfectly named) aquatic detective Jeremy Wade (right) heads for uncharted waters to find out whether an aggressive monster (or monsters) is lurking in the murky depths of the Sea of Cortez, waiting to pounce.

Gardeners’ World
