EURO FIRST

The first colour Eurovision Song Contest was in 1968 at the Royal Albert Hall. Spain’s Massiel (left) won with the song La, La, La and several European countries transmitted the event in colour. In Britain it was shown in black and white on BBC1, with BBC2 airing it in colour the following day.
