10 YEARS AGO – EASTENDERS

Pregnant Dawn Swann escaped after being abducted by Dr May Wright (Amanda Drew, above), who’d planned to do a Caesarean to steal her baby. When Dawn did give birth, May tried to take the baby from the hospital and was later arrested.

15 YEARS AGO – CORRIE

Bet Lynch delighted her old pals by returning to Weatherfield for Betty Turpin’s retirement party. In fact she was really back for a court case as she sued an old flame for not paying back a loan. The case didn’t go her way and she left without saying goodbye.

20 YEARS AGO – EMMERDALE

Kelly Windsor’s fling with her teacher Tom Bainbridge ended badly. After it was exposed, Tom lost his job and the couple (above) ran away together. But Kelly came back a few months later telling her mum Viv she’d found Tom in bed with another pupil.
