PICK OF THE DAY
Our Girl
9PM, BBC1
Michelle Keegan returns for a second outing as Army medic Lance Corporal Georgie Lane (right) in the series that puts enjoyment over realism.
She’s certainly in for an action-packed start as we rejoin her in Syria, no less, during a dangerous mission to rescue a local politician. Then, before she’s even had time to have a coffee back home, Georgie is whisked off to Nepal to help out with the relief efforts following a devastating earthquake. There, dishy Nepalese engineer Milan (Rudi Dharmalingam) helps to take her mind off the suffering – before tragedy strikes.
The Great British Bake Off
8PM, CH4
It’s Italian week in episode seven. Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood challenge the six remaining bakers with a Sicilian signature, a deceptively tricky technical and a fiddly showstopper. And with temperatures in the tent soaring to record levels, it’s even harder than normal for our contestants to keep their cool.
Russia 1917: Countdown To Revolution
9PM, BBC2
Why did the Russian Revolution happen? And, a century later, why does it still matter? To mark the 100th anniversary, this programme dramatises the 245 days that brought Lenin, Stalin and Trotsky to supreme power, and hears the insights of a stellar cast of historians and authors.
Celebrity Hunted
9.15PM, CH4
In the special celebrity edition in aid of Stand Up To Cancer, seven celebrities try to survive 14 days on the run from an elite team of hunters. Made In Chelsea’s Jamie Laing and Spencer Matthews, Gogglebox’s Steph and Dom, pop stars Siva Kaneswaran and Jay McGuiness and broadcaster Anneka Rice are the fugitives.
